who is still about and revamp

Postby rotherym on Sun Mar 29 2009, 9:44 pm

Hi guys ( and gals) lol
When i first bought this britainsrevolting a few years ago, my intended use was not just fuel discusion, but issues affecting Britain (i purposely missed the great off, as i do not think the country earns that title anymore) in general.
I could see the way things were going, as could many of you, and predicted a civil war, and i still stand by that prediction.
The site was used to discuss the fuel situation, purely because that was the most pressing topic at the time when myself, scanny, billie etc made the site live.
However we feel now that the current situation has vastly surpassed the need to concentrate on fuel alone, so we are looking at a revamp of the site to encompase all these extra issues, and hopefully involve people from all walks of life.

What i will say from the outset of this revamp, is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and can voice them here without fear of personal discrimination, unless it involve a personal attack upon another member.

We will not be, and never will be affiliated to any one political party, and welcome views from supporters of all parties.

We hope to grow to be a central rallying point for all gripes people have with this once great country.

To begin with, can i get a quick hello reply back from all supporters of the site just to let us know you are still around.
Thanks

its nice to see people are willing to return. Everyone was knocked sideways last year when the fuel protests were kicked down the priority list thanks to the credit crunch. I certainly dont blame anyone for abandoning them. Fuel prices seem insignificant when you are wondering how you are going to pay for household bills and keep a roof over your head. The duty on fuel has not been forgotten but it is not a priority for now. This is now a political discussion website but who you vote for is your business. There may be disagreements from time to time but all we ask is that you treat everyone else with respect. Im sure we can all put points and opinions forward without conflict

I actually bought a small motorbike at the height of the fuel prices. I used to have one about 10 years ago. Getting another one has re-kindled the bike bug and so I don't use the car hardly at all now. It amuses me that the government will now be making less money from me in tax as I use much less fuel. They shoot themselves in the foot. I bet a fair amount of job losses would have been down to the knock on effect from high fuel prices. Those people will be paying much less tax now and will be costing the government loads in benefits. And for what?....for multi-billion pound companies to make even more profit, sure the government will make a short term gain from the income tax of these companies but surely not enough to cover the ecenomic mess that such practices produce. When will people learn that being overly greedy brings harm, the money has to come from somewhere. :fan:
