Re: this aint enough

So the government have said that they are not going to make us even worse off. It doesn't help us though, does it?

Re: Britains Revolting Statement

63p a litre if brought in 500 litre deliveries. 5 years ago it was about 20p a litre. VAT on heating oil is 5% rather than 17.5% on road fuel

Re: Britains Revolting Statement

There is no reason why tanks should not be dipped when a foreign truck arrives. I am sure that it is done elsewhere in Europe. I cannot tell you where though!

Re: Hypermiling, increase your mpg

Hound,

Good points, but I was mainly referring to automatics. There is no engine braking with an auto, and knocking it out of gear actually saves your brakes as the engine is not pushing against them.

Re: 4x4`s

What a ridiculous statement. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee that is used as my daily driver, and also to take down MY fields at weekends to do suck jobs as fencing, digging, and occasionally, dragging dead horses up to the yard so the glue man can take them away. Chelsea tractor?? Alpha, feck off. Do ...

Re: TransAction's new protest

I doubt the general public would see any benefit from an essential user rebate. It would mean survival for the truck companies, and possibly bigger profits for the larger carriers. I wouldn't think that the costs charged for delivering the goods would drop though, and the chance of it filtering down...

Re: anyone heard of this one

This is an interesting one. Good luck to them, and I hope it doesn't rain! I cannot make it, there is no way my wife will let me use up two weekends protesting!

Fuel protest at Stanlow?

On the radio coming into work today, they had a news article that said that 45 wagons were blockading Stanlow refinery. As per usual, the internet news has nothing on this. Has anyone got any details? The press have been railroaded into not covering any news of blockades by the government. Free spee...

Re: 4x4`s

I smoke mate, but I think that you just reducing to 20 a day will help pay the bills on the car, and help your health. This is not a do not smoke message, as I smoke, just 60 a day is mental!

Cheers

Re: What would you buy, YZF-R125 or CBR125R ?

You are not a proper biker until you have dropped it at least once (that's what I am told anyway!)

Remember to get the license before September. The test is going to get a whole lot more difficult then.
